A 63 year old male had been
treated with antibiotics for a lower respiratory tract infection. He made a
good recovery but a few days following discharge he was readmitted with
diarrhoea and a diagnosis of pseuodmembranous colitis was made. He was treated
with metronidazole and the diarrhoea settled. He was discharged home but
presented a week later with diarrhoea.
