A 40-year-old female presents with a history of a swollen
left leg. She had been unwell about 3 weeks prior to presentation with an
upper respiratory tract infection.
The only other history of note was that she said she
noticed that her urine was dark in colour on some mornings.
She was not on any medication.
On examination you note that her left calf is swollen,
erythematous, warm to touch and tense.
