A 26 year old male presents with a history of sudden episodes of weakness. He notes that his limbs suddenly become floppy. There is no loss of consciousness and he notes that this is likely to occur when he becomes angry or if he starts laughing.

He also complains of feeling tired and sleepy all the time.

The most likely diagnosis in this patient is:

a)      Cataplexy

b)      Akinetic seizures

c)      Absence seizures
